SEGA has recently released its financial reports and things are looking rosy for the company with Atlus dominating their profits and the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog franchise being extremely healthy and picking up new fans on a daily basis. The company also said that the fast-paced Sonic x Shadow Generations enjoyed “strong sales” when it launched last year and that the brand has seen significant increases in licensing revenues. Here’s the highlights from SEGA:
- Strong sales of SONIC X SHADOW GENERATIONS
- Strong repeat sales
- Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie box office surpassed $490 million worldwide
- Distribution of the live-action original drama series Knuckles and extension of views of the
- past movies
- Significant increase in licensing revenues (140% growth YoY)
- Selected as a 3-star IP for Walmart’s Entertainment Council Program
- A sales support program at Walmart which reserved for AAA IP
- Diverse IPs are growing including Sonic
This pleases me.
This really fits the bill for bringing more improvement to the franchise.
The sonic film franchise already hit the roof after the over hyped third entry, meanwhile that garbage minecraft movie already kicked sonic at the box office.

Have never played a 3d sonic but I thought I heard good things about this shadow X game, just not good performance on Switch so I haven’t played yet.

Then rehire Shiro Maekawa! Fire Flynn and Webber. Bring back Sonic Riders, the 4Kids voice cast, remake Adventure 1 and 2, make Adventure 3, buy Platinum or hire them to make Shadow 2 and a Silver game, and hire CyberConnect2 to make Sonic Battle 2.
