You may remember that during COMICON Napoli 2025 Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger creator Yuji Horii seemingly took the stage and said that “a remake of Chrono Trigger is in progress.” Square Enix has now officially commented on this and said that it was simply a mistranslation and that there is no remake of Chrono Trigger in developer at the Japanese company. The news was reportedly widely as soon as it was announced and the damage has now been done.
“The remake version of “Chrono Trigger” is a mistranslation. Mr. Horii did not make such statements at all.”

Good save 😉
OMG… not even interviews are correctly translated. How pityful!
Japanese is a (very) delicate language to translate… one word can have different meanings depending on the context.. And this often translates into Japanese then into English and finally ‘English into other languages which has sometimes led to disasters (like the horrible French translation of FF VII on PSX..) Strangely, there are fewer “errors” when we don’t go through English…
Not that strange. It should be expected the chance for additional errors could occur when translating two languages for one localization rather than directly translating it from Japanese to French. That’s an additional process that could have been mitigated with more time and money.
“I think we threw them off the sent guys”
Nice save SE
That just means theyre not ready to release it at this time. Remember when nintendo was denying switch 2 existence but here we are close to release. Bunch of corporate liars
Well it there mistake. Crono trigger is one of the best ever made games
I used to buy cheaper SNES original copies of “crono” trigger because people couldn’t spell it right. Then repost em under Chrono and make a killing.
I have 3DS version but I’m good but I do think a 2.5D version or a third installment could sell pretty well.
