A new size comparison video has emerged between the Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) and the Nintendo Switch 2. As you can see from the video down below the Nintendo Switch 2 is a substantially larger offering giving players a much larger screen to immerse themselves in. The Nintendo Switch 2 launches on 5th June.
Video: Size difference between Nintendo Switch (OLED) and Switch 2

You know that the idea of a handheld is it being easy to carry around, right? making them larger and larger runs counter intuitevely to that.
Also I don’t understand the “looks like a toy” comparison, these are toys.
They are toys, and I like toys, and I can’t wait to get my new toy next week 😄
@Sensay
That was such a Karen comment.
Then the Gameboy Micro must have been the best handheld of all time. 🤷♂️
(But it wasn’t. To small to play comfortably over a longer period of time.)
If it doesn’t fit in your pocket, you can carry it in a bag or don’t buy it, that’s it. It had to be bigger because it had a tabletop mode. I’m sure if it was 5-6 inches, you would say it was too small.
Yes, it is big — but there have to be some compromises here. If you want a smaller device, it’s either going to be less powerful, have a smaller battery, or (I imagine) cost a lot more. I’m thinking of something like an iPhone or a high-end Samsung — they’ve got the latest tech, sure, but that comes at a price (like, triple the cost of a Switch 2). From what I’ve seen in comparison videos, this thing is noticeably less bulky than other handhelds and performs really well against them.
Im’a Toys-R-US kid, and i don’t wanna grow up!
If it is indeed a derivative of the T234 inside, then it is a SoC of more than 200 mm² for a finer process than the T234. Compared to the 116 mm² with a 20 nm process of the first switch.. so yes, it’s not surprising.
Bigger = Better 👍 i never buy another handheld with smaller screen 🥰
Does gaming consoles consider a toy?
I think the majority of Switch 2 users will play mostly docked. So size isn’t really an issue for many.. myself Included.
