The Game Business has revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2 has had the fourth biggest game launch of all-time behind the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X|S in the largest gaming market in Europe, the United Kingdom. The newly launched console had the best-ever first week for a Nintendo console in UK history, which is a nice achievement. Nintendo has yet to reveal worldwide sales figures for the Nintendo Switch 2. Here are the best-selling game console launches in the UK excluding handhelds (units)

The PS5 launch in the UK was the worst ever I know for a fact how its on top?
The PS4 was launch yes was so big, but these lists and ranks as usual can’t be trusted.
I suspect the Switch 2 in reality is even lower than fourth but in the long run it will do fine like the first one.

The UK is a very big PlayStation Market, and is overall geared towards the PlayStation and Xbox.
While Nintendo does quite well here, just not as good as other places. And with the recent economic struggles here, 4th is a pretty outstanding placement.
Also I would guess availability is an issue I cannot find stock anywhere in the UK where I Live.
PS5 and Xbox being 1 and 3 is absolutely insane given they launched with all the semiconductor shortages..
We’ve been having a massive amount of shipment issues in the UK and even here in Ireland, so I think the sales are lower mainly due to short supply, plus a lot of delivery companies like DPD are screwing up the orders.
Honestly, I’m glad I got mines at the Midnight Launch and have been enjoying the system

UK is pony country. But also Switch 2 has really no games just Mario Kart and to be fair I think Nintendo is on some Sony arrogance right now like PS5 is. People are waking up maybe some fell for the Xbox trap I mean they pretended to actually be competing in the beginning. Initially I was surprised Xbox outselling Switch 2
The numbers aren’t all in yet and they vary wildly. Lots of places reporting it as the most successful launch day 1 ever. No matter where the truth lies, It’s doing fine. It doesn’t need to be the best of all time to be a success.
