Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots Steam page says it uses some AI generated textures

Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots looks like a solid new entry to the long-running series with plenty of content to sink your teeth into and a large character roster. However, the game’s Steam page discloses that the game features some textures which were created using generative AI. Steam store listings have to state if AI has been used in any form to create the game. Here’s what the product page says:

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Some game textures were created using generative AI with supervision and revision by the developers.
Details of this generative AI usage can be found below.
– Tree and leaf textures in the golf courses were created using AI-generated images.

  1. Is this a story? So what? There have been tools for generating textures and other parts of games for decades. There are situations where AI can be controversial but this isn’t one of them
