GameStop auctioning off stapler that damaged Nintendo Switch 2 screens at launch for charity

GameStop have hilariously decided that they will be auctioning off that dreaded stapler that damaged a consignment of Nintendo Switch 2 consoles on launch day at a specific GameStop store. If you are unaware, one dutiful employee decided to staple customer receipts to the front of the Nintendo Switch 2 box, which is very thin cardboard on the top area which unfolds. The aforementioned stapler then punctured the Nintendo Switch 2 screen as the actual console unit is located directly below the fold. It probably wasn’t the best idea in hindsight. Anyway, GameStop is auctioning off that dreaded stapler and the staples for charity and the money will go to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. So it’s for a very good cause. The stapler auction is currently at $16,900 as of the time of writing this post.

  1. I cannot believe someone is going to pay this sort of money for something like this, it’s all good that it’s for charity of course, but I mean.. come on seriously.
Also for whoever buys this I would try and stay anonymous as there could be some switch 2 day 1ers out for revenge!

  2. Nice. Great way to spin story. Nintendo could hire their pr person. Also I bet anyone dissing this has an Amibo or 2. Videogame merch is pretty gosh darn useless on the whole.
