Some unfortunate prospective Nintendo Switch 2 owners have found that their Switch 2 console screen has staple puncture marks through it. The issue arose from a GameStop store which stapled the customer receipt to the Nintendo Switch 2 packaging. In an unfortunate sequence of events, the aforementioned staple went through the receipt and the box and punctured the actual Switch 2 display. A Staten Island branch of GameStop is apparently to blame for this mishap. Hopefully they can get replacement console’s soon.
Update: GameStop has done the right thing and replaced the affected Nintendo Switch 2 units.

So shameful. Did you get yours sickr?
Delivery driver never turned up 😂 Had to contact the delivery people and they will retry!
Try your best man. I was thinking of getting mine shipped into my house but I don’t want to risk on getting send to the wrong address. Just like what happened to others with their games and products. So as a safety procedure, I decided to pick up mine in stores in person.
Cool, enjoy ☺️
No but the incompetents.. I would file a complaint if I were them.
I have to give Walmart credit. They really did a great job. Delivered at 7:30am and threw in a Coke and Pringle’s as “game ready snacks” for free.
👍
That’s awesome
Lmao, why are they even stapling it in the first place? Some people wanna keep those boxes in mint condition, and it could be seen as damaging the product if it only damaged that like they intended.
Sounds pretty idiotic for someone to ship a damaged console under a worse condition instead of checking the boxes twice like Santa Clause.
you know that santa is a fictional character, don’t you?
Unless you are a child, if so then sorry for the dose of reality.
Remove this disgusting comment.
I forgot to log in to my account at the time of writing this comment to ask sickr to delete there troll’s comment
Absolutely ridiculous, I wouldn’t even want the box to be stapled let alone the console.
Good job Nintendo put on those screen protectors.
Mine arrived perfectly, setting it all up now.
I really do feel for the poor souls that have had to endure this totally avoidable idiotic move, yes they’ll get a new console, but how long they gona take, I’d be furious!
I got my console from Walmart, when you open the box the screen is facing up and is against the front of the box, really bad design choice
Honestly even if a nail touch the front of box, it would shatter the screen, what were Nintendo even thinking? I’m glad mine arrived safe and sound 😊
Nintendo is completely at fault here.
Have you seen the unboxing videos. The screen is directly under that first cardboard opening, absolutely no protection whatso ever.
Totally ridiculous.
Smartphone boxes are also like that. It could have more protection, yes, but GameStop shouldn’t have done that. Not just due to the console safety, but the integrity of the boxes as many buyers want to keep them in perfect state. Fortunately, the consoles will be replaced, as the post updated.
