Monolith Soft Tokyo is developing a large scale RPG for Nintendo Switch 2

The talented team of developers at Monolith Soft Tokyo have been hard at work developing a large scale RPG for the Nintendo Switch 2. The established company is currently on a massive hiring spree to fill a variety of integral positions to make this all possible. It is not clear what the Xenoblade developer is working on next other than a large scale RPG. There were rumours that a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles X was in development, but how trustworthy the source of this rumour is remains to be seen.

  1. I kinda doubt it’s a sequel to Xenoblade X, the epilogue story they added to Definitive Edition seemed to make it pretty clear that the story was over now (even though they clearly intended it to be a multi-game saga when making the original Wii U version).

  2. I just hope they take advantage of the more powerful hardware and step away from the Anime art style. I kinda prefer the original Xenoblade Wii designs.

    1. I think the original was still anime but had a way more unique artstyle. I understand where you are coming from though, I’m completely turned off by Xenoblade 2 because of the character designs, they look so generic and boring.

  3. This game will look AMAZING, Monolith always pushed Nintendo’s consoles to their limits to create the most breathtaking games. Can’t wait to see how it will look like!
