Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound on Nintendo Switch is 30fps but Switch 2 will benefit from increased power

DotEmu has revealed a little more about the Nintendo Switch version of the soon-to-be-released Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. The game will run at 30fps on the console, but if you play Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound on the Nintendo Switch 2 the game should take advantage of the consoles horsepower. Other console versions of Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will run at a silky smooth 60fps. You can get your hands on the stylish 2D action title on 31st July.

– The Switch version will average a 30 FPS experience at launch.- The game will be playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility and will benefit from the console's specs.- Other platforms (PC, Steam Deck, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox Series X|S) will have a solid 60 FPS experience.

    1. They probably want a balance of the game looking great but also running at stable frames. That’s just speculation.

      1. My guess is you’re on to something with this…. also, battery life when it comes to the portables. More frames per second = less battery life!

So I would venture to say that it is because they optimized the game that it’s 30fps 🔒

        1. Averaging 30 fps is a compromising effort, hardly an optimized one. Especially for a game only pushing 2D layers of pixel art. Compromised games aren’t worth the same asking price
