Nintendo files a patent for Joy-Con 2 crank with clickable wheel

Nintendo has filed many patents over time and in the vast majority of cases they come to nothing. However, the latest patent from Nintendo would be ideal for a fishing-type game. Yes, they have filed a patent for an attachable crank which features a clickable wheel. The device attaches onto the Joy-Con using magnets and has a rotary disc which is tracked by the mouse sensor through a window. The click is then transmitted to the SL button and a second button for pressing the SR. This could have a variety of uses, but whether it comes to anything is anyones guess.

  1. Something is telling me this might be for some weird fishing game from Nintendo, knowing them they’ll have some weird Nintendo spin on it that’ll either be Awesome like Splatoon or just mid like Drag x Drive/ARMS

    1. I wonder what will happen with the Playdate. I’m surprised they haven’t already got a patent for a crank given its the biggest draw of the whole console (along with the games obviously).
