Bandai Namco has provided more information about how Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO performs on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the Nintendo Switch The game features dynamic resolution on Nintendo Switch 2 which outputs at 810p in both docked and handheld mode. The game sadly won’t be a buttery smooth 60fps, but is instead capped at 30fps. Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO also features HDR on Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is 720p docked and 480p when played in handheld mode, also locked at 30fps though it can dip on menus.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero on Nintendo Switch 2 is dynamic 810p running at 30fps

If this game was lauched out in 2016 for the PS4 it would be 1080/900p 60fps… Just like those games at the time. There is no excuse for a game like this running this bad on the Switch 2. Sony having this new adquisicion of a percentage of bandai namco and saying they are having a new colaboration strategy maybe would have something to do with this, i wonder…
Possibly but Nintendo owns a share in Bandai Namco as well. Smaller but they do own a share.
They need to give this game support. The amount of missing things honestly ghosting it for so long pushing out Tenkaichi 5 may be best and do everything this should have been.
Disappointing that it won’t look that great or run at 60FPS
Its sad that it won’t look really dynamic in 4K graphics.
That’s some shitty optimization right there… why would the resolution window stay the same, even when docked?
this is why they are going to make their own engine
lowering the resolution looks bad at some point, they maybe handle it by reducing effects in handheld mode.
but its an dynamic resolution, maybe this means dlss via 810p output or 810p at minimum output with room for higher
Just screams “lazy port”
Unfortunately a lot of their Switch 1 ports were also lazy as hell
720p/480p is absolutely insane for a 4K capable console with a 1080p screen.
Doesn’t dragon ball have the sort of art style that lends itself to running fast on pretty much everything?
I love the Dragon Ball games, but I feel like if they added a performance mode on this one to get it to 60FPS, it would be a much more enjoyable experience.
I feel like they didn’t even try with this one.
CDPR managed to get their game running on the Switch 2 at 1080p, 30 – 40 fps Docked and 720p Undocked.
Sparking Zero isn’t what I’d call a graphically tense game either.
Really hope this does well which it will because Japan finally gets it Nintendo is the primary console over there and a good chunk of people were waiting on a Nintendo port outside Japan too so even double dippers are coming in. Hope this gets the game to 10 million shows Bandai what they should invest in or better the license gets taken away and a better publisher steps in.
They should have released the Switch versions with the first wave of DLC included it would be great.
Bandai needs to release the Budokai Tenkaichi games on Switch as a collection especially Tenkaichi 2 the best game. Remaking Shin Budokai would be great too but collection is fine. Same for the One Piece games. The Jump crossover games too.
This just reeks of lazy port
What a bunch of fu**** lazy and incompetent losers. 🤨
The head of marketing at Bandai Namco also lied about Chi Chi and Tao being in the base game. They need to be sued that actually could warrant a lawsuit.
They need to be sued. The head of marketing at Bandai Namco when the game was about to release said Original Dragon Ball characters would be in the base game such as Tao and Chi Chi, he said you could have Gohan fight Chi Chi. They need to be sued over this that was a lie and from the head of marketing at Bandai Namco it is a lie from an official employee.
