Legendary video game developer Shigeru Miyamoto rarely talks about his favourite games from other publishers as he is generally interviewed about his own iconic creations. However, it has emerged in an interview with Satoshi Okano that Mr. Miyamoto is a big fan of the colourful Samba de Amigo franchise. Satoshi Okano discovered that Mr. Miyamoto was a Samba de Amigo fan thanks to a New Year’s card he received from the late Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata:
“We were interviewed by a number of gaming magazines. The former HAL Laboratory and then Nintendo president Satoru Iwata-san read those interviews in Kyoto. He and I used to exchange New Year’s greeting cards. In 2000 or 2001, he wrote in his card, “You know, Shigeru Miyamoto also likes Samba de Amigo.”

i didnt know that cool
More reason why Nintendo should buy Sega but Square Enix first
Nintendo needs to buy Square Enix. Downsize them and split them to 2 studios Square Soft and Enix again. Square shills are going crazy again pretending the company does no wrong sales wise or ignoring their next flop KillerInn. Then pretend Capcom has been on a roll? MH Wilds underperformed, Exoprimal, Path Of The Goddess, and Dragons Dogma 2 all flopped and SF6 wouldn’t doubt that isn’t doing what they want it to do.
Miyamoto once said that he was a fan of NiGHTS into Dreams, but that hasn’t meant jack shit.
In short, it took a Steam Deck just to be able to play the original NiGHTS into Dreams, plus Christmas NiGHTS (and more more), not that any of that is relevant on the Switch, or much less the Switch 2.
So why should any of us care what his favorite non-Nintendo games are. He can like Kingdom Hearts 1.5 & 2.5 HD, Paperklay, Psychonauts, Ultra Street Fighter 4, Street Fighter V, and Palworld for all I care and it’ll still change nothing.
