Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has ruled out a Nintendo Switch 2 port of the beloved Monster Hunter World. The main sticking point is that the engine is different from the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 port of Monster Hunter Wilds saying that if they did bring it across they would have to “completely remake the game from the ground up.”
”The main challenge is, the engine is completely different for Monster Hunter World. From Monster Hunter Rise onwards, we’ve been using our own RE Engine. That engine change completely changes the conversation, regardless of performance or machine power. We’d have to completely remake the game from the ground up.”
