The Pokemon Company has revealed that the upcoming Pokemon Champions will be used at the 2026 Pokemon World Championships and will be featured at other Pokemon competitive events. The game will be free-to-start software so it won’t be your typical free-to-play software and will contain microtransactions. Currently, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are being used at competitive events, but the switch to Pokemon Champions will happen sometime before next year’s event in San Francisco. Pokemon Champions is scheduled to release in 2026.

Those are by far the worst gimmicks the series has had. Mega evolutions was peak and I’m so glad gamefreak finally listened to all the feedback and are bringing them back.
I hope Z-Moves returns in this game.
