Tales of Xillia Remastered is 30fps on Nintendo Switch

Bandai Namco has revealed the target resolution of the Nintendo Switch version of the recently announced Tales of Xillia Remastered. The game is targeting 1080p docked and 720p when played handheld. The big thing is the framerate, which is targeting 30fps. The original Tales of Xillia on the PlayStation 3 was 60fps in battles, but it looks like the Nintendo Switch version will be targeting 30fps throughout the adventure. Oh, and the file-size is listed as 16GB.

  1. I don’t know why they can’t make it 30fps during overworld exploration and 60 during combat like the original, it’s a feature that has been there since Abyss on the PS2 yet they cannot be bothered to program it for a remaster.
    Graces was the same, too.

    1. They can’t cuz it’s not a straight port, it’s a remaster which uses a lot of resources. 30fps isn’t inherently bad, if it constantly dips then we have a problem but if it’s steady and well optimized then why cry about it being 30fps? I’m not here to defend the devs. When the game comes out I’m buying both the Switch and PC version but mainly to see how optimized the Switch version is without playing on Switch 2. If the Switch version is bad then I’ll apologize.

      1. Normally I’m fine with 30 fps, but Tales games are action games with a lot of technicalities to their combat, so having smooth responsive controls and animations greatly enhances the experience and it gets really difficult to achieve that with a 30fps cap.
