Nintendo has confirmed this morning that it has decided to stop repairs for the Nintendo 2DS XL and all Nintendo 3DS models. The Kyoto-based company says it has simply run out of repair parts and will no longer be issuing repairs for faulty systems. The news was shared by its customer service team on social media platform X.
“As we have run out of parts needed for repairs, we have discontinued repair services for the New Nintendo 2DS XL as of September 4, 2025. (Repairs for other Nintendo 3DS series systems have also been discontinued.)”
Thanks to MasterPikachu6 for sending us the news tip!

Rip. These things are hard to fix.
RIP. Love my New 3DS XL so much still. Currently playing Ultra Sun/Moon alongside my son.
R.I.P 3DS. You were like a son to me. This is not a easy fixed.
That’s sad.
This sucks for those who don’t do their own repairs even with tutorials and right to repair. I did hear that 3DS’s are annoying to repair mainly cuz of the ribbon cables in the hinges being annoying to put back without tearing those frail ribbon cables.
