Iizuka says free Sonic Racing CrossWorlds DLCs to focus on SEGA’s back catalogue

In a recent interview with Japanese video game site 4Gamer Sonic Team boss Takashi Iizuka has stated that the free downloadable content additions for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will focus on characters from SEGA’s own back catalogue. Naturally there are plenty of IPs for the company to choose from, but it seems like the characters outside of SEGA’s own internal back catalogue will reserved for paid Season Pass holders.

“The already announced “Hatsune Miku,” “Kasuga Ichiban,” and “Joker” are three characters who are currently active at the forefront of Sega games, so we decided to deliver them first. For characters after that, we’re thinking of selecting from Sega’s legendary characters, similar to those in “Sonic & Sega AIl-Stars Racing.” We hope you’ll look forward to what’s coming each month.”

      1. Sonic is trash though tbh.

“Noooo stop saying nasty things about my imaginary cartoon character intended for young children, I can’t cope with it! 😭”

    1. “Game Flopped” The game was out for less than 2 weeks and on top of that it’s been getting nothing but praise from just about every corner of the internet. We get it you guys don’t like Sonic but come on you have to admit Crossworlds is doing something right if it’s getting this much praise.

      1. Look I’m not going to argue but for once it’s not just Sonic fans who think the game is good. You’ve got people (Youtube for example) saying the game is fun. Will it top any Mario Kart games? Obviously not. Does Crossworlds have flaws? I’d be lying if I said it didn’t but you make it sound like the game is one of the worse things ever made.

  1. Your entitled to your opinion but as it stands Sonic is a flawed franchise and is not “Surpassing Mario” anytime soon

  2. How about a racer like Maro kart. You know, only Sonic characters, no comments from character, simply a racer. Nothing else.

    …guess we can’t have it.
