Bandai Namco along with other developers aren’t having much success with battle royale-style titles and it has announced that one is closing down on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The company stated on social media that Pac-Man Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs, which only released last year, is shutting its doors on 1st November and then services will completely end on 31st December. The company’s last Pac-Man battle royale game Pac-Man 99 closed in 2023.

2026 will mean that Tetris 99 and F-Zero 99 will shut down for good.
The Game is still being sold full price on the eShop. This is how companies want all of gaming to be. For you to not own or permanently have access to the games you buy.
