WayForward has announced today that they are in the midst of developing the next game in the long-running Shantae series. A title for the game has yet to be announced, but the team is knuckling down developing their latest project. Shantae series director Matt Bozon said in a special message to fans that it will be a while before they have anything concrete to share, but that they hope fans look forward to the next chapter.
“Today I get to share some very exciting news, and that is that we’re currently hard at work on a brand-new, seventh entry in the Shantae series. We won’t have anything to share in a while, but we hope you’ll look forward to it.”

That’s awesome that we are getting another Shantae game.
It’s cool that Shantae is getting another game in her series. I don’t play Shantae but I do like her design and flaw through.

This series is the closest thing to the Wonderboy games, I think they should try for a full 3D game next. It can distance itself from Zelda by having smaller/medium size areas instead of giant ass deserts that Nintendo seem to be obsessed with for some reason now.
So yeah, a 3D one could be interesting if done right.
