As promised Nintendo has lifted the lid on its upcoming epic The Super Mario Galaxy Movie which is a collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination. The film looks to mash up elements of the sublime Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Wonder. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie launches in cinemas worldwide in April 2026. Hoo boy, I forsee that Rosalina casting upsetting a certain group of people.
That aside, it looks good! It’s nice to see elements from Odyssey and Wonder in there as well.
Rosalina is fine but you can already tell that peach is still the worst part of the movie and i worry this time they are going to give less screentime to the mario brothers…poor luigi can’t catch a breath.
The guy at top is just being an asshole yes people will hate the castings same way they hate Pratt the Hollywood actors suck Rogen is awful thankfully not in this, but is producing and writing a Donkey Kong film. Brie Larson is an awful actress, Pratt can not voice act, Black carried the first film, and the writing was awful. If the people who hate Larson want to send a message easy just don’t watch that’s what I’ll do.

For a Metroid fan, this is good. We know Brie is a Metroid fan and it seems like she would like a Metrpid movie, presumably with her as Samus. Now she has a major role in Nintendo’s big movie project. She can whisper in the ears of Nintendo decision makers and get the gears turning on a Metroid movie.

I’m so excited for this movie next year, The Super Mario Bros Galaxy Movie is going to be epic and I can’t wait to see Rosalina and Bowser Jr in this movie, Let’s a go Wahoo!!!

Oh geez incels already up in flames that Larson is in this. 😂 I don’t mind her at all. I’m sure the movie (a film targeted at children, so grown men please remember this) will be a fun time. Can’t wait to see it with my 11 year old!
Brie Larson actually seems like perfect casting. Her and Rosalina have the same energy… or lack of energy, I guess
Enjoyed the inclusion of Megaleg and Gusty Garden Galaxy theme at the end (although feels like the Observatory Theme would have been the natural way to introduce Rosalina). As they’ve named the film after Galaxy, I hope they pay that game the right level of homage!
Yes the original is more “enjoyable” rather than genuinely “good.” But personally, as someone who grew up a Sonic fan, I still haven’t brought myself to watch any of those movies. Tho 3 looks like the one I would be the most interested in and probably would enjoy.
So what I’m saying is, I’ll take another enjoyable animated Mario movie. I’m up for it.
My main complaint with the first one was that the entire writing/sequence for how Mario met Peach and was “trained” should have been just 100% different. If they would have restructured that and padded 15 minutes for them to get to know each other. I think it would have added a lot to the movie.
