    1. why it’s no better than Expedition 33 or Silksong. I’ve played and beat it really good game but nowhere near they 2 mentioned games

      1. You said it’s no better, then said it’s significantly worse than the other two you mentioned. I think you need to understand how phrases work in a sentence.

  1. I would like silksong to get the goty award coz it’s a class metroidvania with a high amount of polish and cheap compared to most other games, but I expect it’ll go to expo 3, bananza would be nice and obviously hades 2 is a seriously good game if you like rogue types.

  2. Only one do those I’ve played is Bananza, so for that reason it gets my vote but it was very good. The best game I’ve played this year is Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition though. I couldn’t really care less about popularity contests like TGA but its a nice feeling for those that worked on the games

  3. I loved Bananza.

Silksong should get the game of the year, the game is crazy ridiculous amazing and huge, and I’m not even done with it yet. Few games get the level of polish, freedom, perfect gameplay and atmosphere down, and it’s charming, and there’s no reused stuff/sequelitis bs, and the art is great, and the soundtrack is phenomenal, and the scope is unbelievable, and it’s by three guys. GOTY. Maybe GOAT. Hollow Knight was my favourite game ever and somehow Silksong actually met my expectations. Just incredible.

  4. E33 will probably win. Well deserved tbh. A turn-based RPG winning would be huge (just like a platformer winning last year)

  5. Currently playing Hades II and Bananza and I gotta say Hades II feels more GOTY to me although Bananza definitely is one helluva huge achievement and maybe a bigger one than Hades in terms of gamedesign and I llllloove to play it with my daughter as well as alone. So without Hades II, only MP4 could threaten this.
But Hades II has been a slamdunk like I never experienced it before. From the first seconds of the revealtrailer (i believe at Gameawards) I was just extatic, realizing, that Supergiant for the first time would do a sequel to a game and thats exactly what I want. because Hades was just so much more than a game. And getting into Hades II, I guess I just was in the exact right place to absolutely appreciate it in every way. I think it looks absolutely beautiful, Daniel Korb’s soundtrack is beyond awesome to a level, that should earn him an own Gameaward for OST and most important of all, the game hits the perfect balance between returning mechanics to justify calling it a Hades game and implementing enough new additions to make it a worthy sequel that even manages to stand on its own legs in a way, that I can even still play Hades I and have a lot of fun as it just didn’t got replaced. All of that makes this my personal GOTY.

Bananza hits nearly everything I could ask from a GOTY. The only thing I’m missing is that characteristic, Rare established with the DK Country games and Retro studios continued to build on with their DK Returns games.
I do understand that there was a DK before DK Country, still I grew up with country and I lllllloved DK Tropical Freeze.
The Rare and Retro-DKs where always a bit more down to earth ( I know, Bananza is literally down to earth) with stuff that had more roots in the real world while also delivering this great comic style. Bananza is sometimes a bit too abstract for me to really think of a DK game. But really just a bit. Because on the other hand, I just love the way, how absolutely batshit crazy this game gets all the time. So I’d say I do absolutely love this as a Nintendo game, but a bit less as a DK game.

But in the end, all of this doesn’t matter as Expedition 33 will get GOTY for sure.
