Yuji Hori appears flustered and says he can’t talk about a Chrono Trigger remake

The legendary Yuji Hori may have let the cat out of the bag by revealing that he is seemingly involved in the rumoured Chrono Trigger remake for current generation consoles. Asked about the celebrations happening around the anniversary of the series he was asked if there were any game developments happening. In his reply he appeared visibly flustered and said that it is not something he can actually talk about yet, leading many online to speculate that a new Chrono Trigger project is in the works. Whether its HD-2D project or a Final Fantasy 7 Remake-style project remains to be seen.

“I can’t talk about that,” before immediately becoming flustered, jokingly adding comments like, “Wait, if I say that, you’ll figure it out!,” “Don’t ask!,” Asking is off-limits!,” and “I’ll get in trouble!”. The whole panel then burst out in laughter and moved on with the show. Before the topic was switched, however, Torishima cheekily comments “There’s something,” signaling his belief that a potential remake may be on its way.

      1. Safe bet for sure. You could say that the pixels and sprites created the experience and charm, but we did have a lot of cutscenes from the PS1 version, which dictated the look and feel of the game. I think it should transition into 3D quite nicely, especially if you look at the Toriyama style of Dragon Quest.

  1. They should do it like Dragon Quest XI also anime for both from Toei. While we’re on the topic Microsoft needs to port Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on Switch/Switch 2 also PC PS4/PS5.

  2. Well now, that’s just plain rude of you to say. Using such vitriolic language does nothing but add fuel to the fire you wish to extinguish, and yet your hatred will consume you far before the flames reach the soles of your feet.

Take a chill pill, man. Dang.
