Team Cherry has talked about its future plans on its official blog and one of the things on its schedule is a Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade for the original Hollow Knight video game. The free update will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch 2 next year. That’s not all as the company is planning its first expansion for Hollow Knight Silksong which is titled Sea of Sorrow. Here’s all the details:

Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 free upgrade
Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition incorporates all the updates and enhancements that Silksong received on the platform: High frame-rate modes, higher resolutions, and many additional graphical effects.
As with Silksong, players who own a copy of Hollow Knight on Nintendo Switch will be able to download the new Nintendo Switch 2 Edition for free when it launches in 2026!
At least they’re not forgetting their good game. It’s a shame Silksong was so terrible it’s already dropped off everyone’s radar and they have to offer the DLC for free though, they spent too much time on this DLC-turned main entry for it to go cold so quickly.
