The team at Arc system Works have said in a development post on their website that they are considering how much longer they will develop and nurture Guilty Gear Strive on the Nintendo Switch due to the platform’s obvious hardware constraints. Arc System Works haven’t explicitly stated that they are ending support for the platform, but they suggest it could eventually happen as the game becomes more complex with future updates etc. Here’s what they said:
“Finally, regarding the future of GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- Nintendo Switch Edition.
Developing and operating the game on Nintendo Switch required a great deal of effort and ingenuity to work within hardware constraints. Based on that experience, we are currently examining what form future updates beyond Version 2.0 could take for the Nintendo Switch Edition.
Please note that feasibility will depend not only on technical challenges, but also on how far we can push ourselves as a development team, as well as on feedback and support from our players. All of these factors will be taken into account as we make our decisions.”
Just like Factorio, Space Age wasn’t released on the Switch due to technical constraints; they made a Switch 2 edition. They’re going to do the same here: abandon the Switch version to focus on the Switch 2 version. Can we blame them? No

GG:S has not only pushed 3 million units, but it’s there best GG entry period. It had great reviews and it’s still being used as one of the games for EVO, and will still be used come EVO 2026. It was just at about every tournament last year.

Add on Arc Sys may have taken on too much with Double Dragon flopping so that and Lucy not performing up to expectation is a problem.

Yeah fighting games are trash. Street Fighter 6 is a flop and notice despite posting 6 million copies sold Capcom has not bragged about it during earnings calls and with the amount spent on it I don’t think it did well enough, previous guy in charge said it would sell 10 million. Tekken 8 was trash just bad story and way it was handled and with Harada leaving I think Tekken is done no Tekken 9. NRS is a dump too MK1 flopped and Injustice 3 will not save them. I honestly think Tokon will flop come next year being a fighting game, divisive Marvel anime slop, and a Strive like. BlazBlue I always thought was better and the creator Mori has a new studio called StudioFlare I’m more excited for his new project it’s an action game but he said he’s interested in making a new fighting game down the road. NetEase is funding him and Nagoshi’s new studio and really excited for Gang Of Dragon since Yakuza just went downhill for me during the PS4 era when Nagoshi was less involved and it got sensitive and jokey they ruined lore and Majima.

to actually add to the topic of the page, this is Nintendo’s fault as an update for the game has to go through a verfication process which can last months which makes other platforms mismatched with the switch version. It makes sense for them to drop it as it’s not worth it due to majority of the player base being on other platforms other then switch.

Game is a flop they invested way too much into it mixed with other bad ASW decisions. Lucy probably cost them and she did not return add on the cost of the anime and now this Nintendo port is probably a loss as well like Double Dragon. They have been inflating numbers the game sold like 1.5 million at launch but then everyone dropped off it was all ponies and they did not buy DLC, then they got a boost with game pass 3 million players not buys. Now the game is like $20 with the hope that leads to newcomers buying DLC and they are not, game is just trash.
