NateTheHate: Nintendo Switch 2 dev kit availability “has largely been resolved”

We have known since before launch that Nintendo had only sent development kits out to select partners and that their availability was fairly scarce. Thankfully, known leaker NateTheHate, says that the situation has now largely been resolved meaning that third party developers who wanted development kits should now have them or be receiving them soon. Talking about the report that Call of Duty is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 he said that “the dev kit delivery situation has largely been resolved.”

“In the case of COD… it doesn’t mean they got a devkit super late, either. Just late enough that they couldn’t get the work done to launch the game sooner. The devkit delivery situation has largely been resolved.”

    1. Absurd idea? It’s a well-known fact. They didn’t hold them back, though, they couldn’t make enough. This is very common for new consoles, it’s rare that the console manufacturers ever make enough to meet demand for the first half-year or so.

      1. False.
The kits are available long in advance, well before the console is finished… do you think the Nintendo teams are just twiddling their thumbs while waiting?
It’s the same for third parties; they receive kits from the start and the newer versions afterwards.
That’s why I don’t believe this story at all.
Moreover, if you read carefully, you notice that the “big” developers had the kits for a while; only the “small” and independent ones didn’t have them or didn’t have enough, which is, after all, logical!

      2. Dude, there’s literally zero proof of devs not getting devkits. Most big devs and publishers got them. Which ones didn’t?

That was just DF trying to attack Nintendo, as usual.

  1. IMO Nintendo held back the dev kits to stifle competition temporarily to sell even more copies of First party games out the gate. That’s my opinion and have no facts to back it up.
