Windows Central says both Fallout New Vegas Remaster and Fallout 3 Remaster coming

Windows Central has published an article looking at what’s in store for Xbox in 2026 and have stated that not only is Fallout 3 getting the remaster treatment but the acclaimed Fallout New Vegas is getting the same treatment. The remaster will be similar to the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which was more of a remake than a remaster. Hopefully both of those games will find their way to the Nintendo Switch 2.

“Some have been wondering if a mysterious countdown on the Fallout TV show’s Amazon Prime website is hinting at a shadow drop for a new Fallout game or remaster. I’m told this is not the case. However, we are eventually getting a Fallout 3 remake in the vein of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, as well as Fallout New Vegas on top.”

  1. Microsoft needs to bring back Vicarious Visions and give them all the old IP to remake. Some can be outsourced to Saber like Brute Force, Crimson Skies, and Mech Assault. Everything else Tony Hawk Underground, Banjo, Kameo, Conker, Blinx, Voodoo Vince, True Crime, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Tenchu, Magatama, Prototype, Fuzion Frenzy, Otogi, Ninja Blade, Tao Feng, Kakuto Chojin, Jet Force Gemini, Jade Empire, Kung Fu Chaos, all of that and more remake. Also they should be given Crash and Spyro for new games also remake THPS 3+4 again and Spyro again.

    1. How? If these remasters are true there is a high chance they will come to Switch 2. They are not remakes that use high end graphics and engines that only the ps5 and xbox series can handle. It’s very likely they these remasters will come to switch 2

      1. No they are remakes not remasters these companies mix them up. The Oblivion one was called a remaster and so was Dead Rising but they are remakes.

        1. How was oblivion a remake? The game is exactly the same as the original except the graphics. Resident evil has remakes.

          1. That is a remake. Remake is new graphics. Crash N Sane Trilogy a remake. Remaster is usually just remastering picture quality, maybe some textures and frame rates

      2. It’s not a remaster it’s a remake probably outsourced to Virtuos. Same way Dead Rising was remade in RE engine or Crash Bandicoot was remade. Not a remaster. FFX HD is a remaster.

  2. Windows Central reporting that both Fallout: New Vegas Remaster and Fallout 3 Remaster are coming feels huge for longtime fans.

    1. Yeah, it’s like Bethesda is placing a calculated gamble betting nostalgia will pay off big this time.
Sam: True, but remasters are always a risk; it’s almost like putting chips on the table and hoping the house doesn’t mess it up. Check out some betting odds and fan takes here: https://www.pandasnus.com/blogs/lounge

  3. Exactly, until it’s confirmed, it feels like watching a high-stakes gamble where everyone’s waiting to see if the bet wins.

  4. Interesting news if this actually pans out—both remasters would be huge wins for long-time fans and newcomers alike. Fallout New Vegas especially deserves a modern refresh, and it’ll be great to see how they handle it. I like keeping track of updates and timelines the same way I follow detailed info through Pasco court records when I need reliable reference points. Hopefully we’ll get official confirmation soon and maybe even a Switch 2 release down the line.
