Today, SEGA announced Sonic the Hedgehog Presents: The Chaotix Casefiles, a brand-new narrative podcast from SEGA of America, Inc. in partnership with Realm. The series debuts on January 27, 2026, with Realm managing distribution everywhere that podcasts are available and representing the show for ad sales.
The Chaotix Casefiles features the official Sonic video game voice cast reprising their roles, including Roger Craig Smith as Sonic the Hedgehog, Keith Silverstein as Vector the Crocodile, Matthew Mercer as Espio the Chameleon, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Charmy Bee, with many other fan-favorites to appear throughout the season.
The production is helmed by a team of creative talent deeply rooted in the world of animation and gaming. Directed by Ian Jones-Quartey (OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes, Steven Universe), with lead writer Dan Jolley (Transformers, Dying Light, Superman), and a writers’ room with Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley, who have extensive experience with the Sonic franchise.

Seriously? A boring podcast?
I’m not normally into podcasts, but this sounds pretty interesting to me. A lot of the cast from the games, the writers room of Stanley and Flynn, and cartoon writers? This could genuinely be awesome.
Ian is that you? You already had a podcast bumbleking or whatever. This is trash and probably another easy paycheck for all involved to strike their egos.
Ian is a hack with no talent the Archie stuff was great because he had editors telling him what to do sadly he got more freedom aftet the revamp but still no where near as bad as IDW. Evan she is even worse decent artist but horrible writer his staff is awful no thank you I think its wrong Sega will platform and pay them for this circle jerk. His warped version of Scourge or the awful take on Silver where he’s a goof now yeah no. Story is boring not to mention him lying about Sega restricting him which was proven he is just a bad writer with agenda. His fan comics show that.
Ian JQ is a groomer all these people are pdfs and groomers dating back to Walt Disney. Rebecca Sugar, Julia Vickerman, Seth MacFarlane, Dan Harmon, John K, and so many others comic people too like the creator of SpiderGwen and I assume Ian, Ken Penders, and Ian’s staff are too
Yup the people in charge of the Sonic brand think this is cool they need to be fired Ian Flynn and Aaron Webber get Sonic back to being good. They also were behind bad shows like Sonic Boom and Prime or mid YouTube animation. This stuff is not exciting it is cringe. Can we get games, remakes, a anime things people want not a podcast and overhyped events.
Sonic X needs to come back and adapt the other games Riders, Zero Gravity, Rivals, Rivals 2, Sonic Rush, Rush sequel, Black Knight, Secret Rings, 2006 and we need Season 3 adapted into Sonic Adventure 3.
Yeah more bad ideas from Ian Flynn and co now they get a podcast to circle jerk each other with their bad writing and fan fic. Sega went downhill again when Nagoshi left even worse with the Atlus staff mostly gone now too.
I would have rather had a sequel to Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, but I’ll take it
I would rather get games like Sonic Adventure remakes with the 4Kids cast, Silver game by Platinum given it’s his 20th anniversary, Sonic Battle sequel or remake by CyberConnect2, new Sonic Riders or remake, Shadow 2 by Platinum, Sonic X back or a new anime, and the long rumored Sonic Heroes remake. But every anniversary we get this overhyped cringe garbage. Biggest announcement might be Sonic in Fortnite that is not bad.
Games are too expensive so it’s time to go back to mid-century radio dramas, I guess
No it’s just bad decisions and cringe from current management they are all like this old and out of touch they think this is cool also want attention. Whole reason Sonic has gotten worse since the late 2000’s early 2010’s

Fire everyone involved. Hopefully if Sonic movie 4 and Frontiers 2 tank they finally fire everyone behind the brand from Iizuka to Flynn and that includes Webber.
