Extas1s, who is admittedly a hit or miss leaker, claims to have a scoop on Square Enix‘s plans for the much-loved Kingdom Hearts video game franchise. Extas1s says that the team at Square Enix is currently busy remaking the original Kingdom Hearts game for Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. We haven’t heard anything as of late on the visually impressive Kingdom Hearts 4, but Extas1s says the Japanese company is aiming for a winter 2027 release and is looking to release the Kingdom Hearts Remake in early 2027. Extas1s claims he has received images from the Kingdom Hearts Remake, which he says will include a new Jungle Book World. However, he has yet to post the images online.

Not happening this is fake Square has said they won’t be releasing multiple games til post 2027. FF7 will get 2027 all to itself as their only AAA game.
It also makes no sense remaking 1 given the collection seems to be coming and Union X and Dark Road make more sense to get remakes given how they pertain to the story moving forward unlike 1. Makes even less sense to take thunder away from the final part of FF7 remake and even worse undercut multiple AAA titles not enough space to breathe not to mention a remake of 1 doesn’t directly lead to 4 not a good jumping on point for a newcomer to understand 4.
It makes little sense to reveal 3 big AAA games for 2027 this year so I don’t believe it also to reassure shareholder trust they would have revealed it by now at least 4.

I know the reveal trailer was almost 4 years ago but it’s weird if this is true since the wait and hype cycle for Kingdom Hearts 3 took so long since there was always a new trailer every few months.
KH3 hype was years and we got 2.8 the momentum was built better this is just bad and I assume false. 1 does NOT need a remake Union X and Dark Road need remakes the most and 4 I have to wonder about. Missing Link was cancelled and was supposed to be a huge part of 4 so what happens to that because 4 will have people lost unless the Missing Link ties are cut or repurposed most assumed as a new game or something 2.8 like. 358 would also justify a remake more.

KH3 is trash and 2.8 made things worse, love the song but in 3D introduces TWEWY hinting they are in 3 yet they are not and Sora is not in Shibuya for 4, the Aqua storyline is dumb because they just left her to rot knowing she was there the whole time meanwhile Ansem escaped multiple times why can’t she? The Foretellers I like but will 4 handle them properly. It’s more reason why Union and Dark Road should be remade into console games to better understand those stories they are also not in the collection rumored for release. Even more dumb Aqua goes back into the ream of darkness in 3 to search for Sora who is not there. I would say instead of wasting resources on remaking 1 if this was true waste resources to make 5 so there is no long wait period

Why remake 1 when a collection is coming out it makes no sense even worse to do it the same year as FF7 part 3 the amount of money they would waste marketing or worse FF7 will get promoted then these 2 just get thrown to the side. With missing link canned I would assume 4 would be retooled to not need that story I truly believe the game was scrapped in 2023 or 2024 and restarted development which is why they are so quiet same way DQ12 has had issues and is quiet too.

First off the FF team and KH teams are in separate cities so 2 different teams, second you do know slot of FF7 remake came from KH right like Nomura’s redesign of Sephiroth adding the black wing or even Zack’s whole story KH mysteriously introduces him and many assume FF7 remake is part of KH when Sephiroth and Cloud disappear in KH2 believing part 3 will lead to KH4 and them coming back. Reminder Nomura was in charge of both.
Why you might love it, Nomura will butcher KH1 remake the same way he ruined FF7 with that reinterpretation not remake a horrible reinterpretation.
He needs to remake KH3 completely different story even different Disney worlds. In all honesty 3 should have been the end because he has no idea what he’s doing and how to end the story and just wants to make Versus 13 so bad. The story in 3 is so bad it’s like most of it was written by the awful Dragon Ball Super staff and fangirls not wanting characters to die or in Roxas’s case be Sora which he is why is he the only Nobody to not be 1 with his original self? Actually I’d be ok with Xion being alive if they did that and Sora has Roxas’s memories because they are the same now it’s too late to fix that. Who the other Sora is that Yozora mentioned? The girl Isa and Lea are searching for and what the Master Of Masters true goal is and who was standing next to him in the trailer Yozora? Part 3 will be the end. To be fair Verum Rex should have been made before Kingdom Hearts 4 because Nomura refuses to let Versus 13 go so much it ruined 3. He said he wants to make it still so no part 4 probably not happening Verum Rex possibly next would rather see that or XV remake by Nomura over him ruining Kingdom Hearts move with his rage.

That is weird ajd also what has this guy gotten right? FF7 part 3 releases in early 2027 my guess and remaking KH1 not the best move then 4 at the end of the year really strange with no promotion already I mean 7 has not gotten any either for part 3 no reveal. Remaking 1 makes less sense given that 4 and 1 are not super tied together the games that are tied to it would be Dark Road and Union X the mobile games that are now delisted and really need that kind of remake proper KH combat and gameplay with voice acting and cutscenes.

I want to get into this series, can anyone tell what game to start with? Please don’t reply hate comments, I am just curious about this franchise and want to try it.
1 that’s how most start if you’re too old you may not like it. In order it’s 1, ReChain Of Memories, 2, 358/2 Days which is a midquel set between ReChain and 2, then Birth By Sleep a prequel set before 1, after that it gets more confusing Coded, Dream Drop Distance, the movie, 0.2, then Birth By mobile games then 3. You can get the first few games in a collection called 1.5 Remix then others in 2.5 Remix and 2.8 Remix I forget what the complete collection is called. Playing 1-Birth By Sleep might be you best bet to see if you like it or are interested in the story. ReChain is different gameplay than the other games and can be boring so decide if you want to play the card game or just watch cutscenes I honestly would say 2 and Birth By Sleep are best but you need to understand the story before those games to really like or understand what’s going on. You can hold off rumors are a proper complete collection of all games 1-3 including the DLC from 3 are coming to Switch 2.

If KH fans want to be taken serious by Square make FF7 tank in sales next year if that flops they will have to focus on KH finally
Exactly all these influencers need to hold the line avoid part 3 until it goes on sale do not shill Square Enix then cry no Kingdom Hearts in 7 years. If Final Fantasy flops again they will reassess and prioritize Kingdom Hearts as it should have been 5 years ago!
BS! Lies! Why remake 1 to prepare for 4? Those games do not connect. Dark Road and Union X connect better as do 2 and 358 because the it ties to those characters unlike 1 the claim it brings in new fans to play 4 makes no sense they would be lost.

Remaking 1 makes no sense altering the story. Dark Road and Union X need the remakes not this and Missing Link could be called Kingdom Hearts 0 or Origins like 2.8 was would sell to more like Yakuza 0 did despite the game being trash ruined Yakuza. Also kids is what they claim will buy 1 remake to get into the series, that makes no sense the current audience is late teens to 20 year olds they are not buying a remake of 1 especially out of spite. Also kids do not buy console releases like that they only play Fortnite, Genshin, Minecraft, Roblox, etc not this stuff its why console regular releases are bad.
I would make a joke about Kingdom Hearts getting its own multiverse like final fantasy vii, but I’m scared Nomura would actually do it.
