US: Physical copies of Resident Evil Requiem are pretty much sold out

Those of you who haven’t pre-ordered a physical copy of the long-awaited Resident Evil Requiem and live in the United States will seemingly have a hard job finding one as most retailers have sold out. The only retailer who had copies was Walmart but checking the website now they are only offering copies in store. Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop are now sold out across multiple formats. It might be worth checking if you can get a copy of Resident Evil Requiem in store when it launches tomorrow. Of course, if worst comes to worst, you can get a digital copy on the various storefronts.

  1. If it’s sold out as physical, i usually just get the game as digital it’s not a big deal unless you’re a collector and want a physical copy.

    1. phYsIcAL mEdIA iS dEaD! Yes, not a deal breaker to have to get a digital version, but it us a strong preference for large group of players. Plus, micro SD cards aren’t free. Sure, digital goes on sale more often I think, but that is kinda offset by the expensive memory cards that are going to be needed more often with big files. Anyhoo, it’s Resident Evil time! Getting good reviews and runs well on a Nintendo platform, very exciting.

        1. I was waiting for a discount of Bravely Default HD on Switch 2 for months, but then I found it on clearance for $20 at Target one day. It may be a key card, but that’s a steal of a price.

      1. It’s the opposite… digital games would allow the price of games to go down… because they would capture the margin currently taken by retailers. If the prices are the same, it’s because retailers put pressure to avoid facing this competition, which they consider unfair.

Another thing, even though I’m the first to use it: publishers don’t look favorably on the second-hand market because, just like with piracy, they don’t make any money from it. That’s why I’m in favor of gamekey cards: they’re a good compromise between all physical and all digital in themselves, but we need to stop dreaming: the physical meda is coming to an end, I just hope that in 10 years we won’t have to pay a subscription like a streaming site just to play..

    1. You do realize a standard physical copy would be as worthless as a key card after the first patch, right? Just buy the superior digital version and welcome yourself to the modern world that started roughly 20 years ago. It’s okay, there’s nothing to fear about going to the superior digital format. You’ll even save hundreds of dollars because digital is factually cheaper, and if they stopped making physical copies, or at least made limited production runs and priced them higher than digital, we could all benefit. Not that gaming is expensive today anyway, and it’s a luxury regardless not a right, but still. If we can have cheaper games by getting rid of physical, which both will happen, then stop preventing it by pretending physical is superior in any way.

  2. Yeah this was extremely easy to pre-order until this past week, when everyone collectively decided to clamor to buy the bundle last second and those loser scalpers tried price-hiking on ebay. It was an absolute NIGHTMARE trying to get one as they went out of stock eeeverywherr. But thank God, I managed to get mine from Walmart before it was too late. I’d recommend anyone that wants the pre-order bonus to just pre-order Requiem and then buy the bundle when it’s in stock, then either return one of the 9’s or gift/give/sell it to a friend.

Otherwise, I’m sure (and have heard via email for PNP Games) retailers are trying to get this back in stock ASAP but don’t have an ETA. Keep in mind it’s only in print until March 31st, but if push comes to shove it is the same price digitally. It’s probably best to wait for it to go back in stock in March (VGP & PNP are still options!) as you do get them all physically in a really cool box. I do wonder if they’ll put out physicals of 7 & 8 later, like they’re doing in Japan. But at the very least they’re both available separately digitally for those that just want one of them

  3. Hey! I just checked back and noticed: if anyone’s still trying to get the Generations Pack, it’s in stock on Books A Million !! They’re an authentic store, although you have to pay $5 for shipping if you don’t have a memebership

  4. It doesn’t matter if it’s a game key card, it’s going to sell well usually. Street fighter 6 sold 2 million units on switch 2 and that was a game key card. They are annoying, but considering how most ps5 games contain nothing on the disc and have larger file sizes for games, I think the switch 2 is winning due to the games that are on the card and the smaller file sizes on the switch 2.

  5. Antisemitism at its finest the monsters are antisemitic caricature. Hope the ADL sues over this people need to take a stand. No surprise the Japanese were allied with the mustache monster disgusting. Boycott Capcom and this game!

  6. Disgusting! This game promotes supporting law enforcement and government agencies look the 2 main characters are white government employees that you are supposed to praise even worse Leon shoots a child and it’s somehow meant to be ok? Then plays it off as she’s alive. Everyone who bought this game should be killed! Sickening and I’m pretty sure this game uses AI. I don’t want to hear people complain about AI and fascism when they enable it!!!! Not just this but everything!!!!!!!!!

    1. “Everyone who bought this game should be killed” Is my favorite quote from this website. I bet your parents met at a family reunion.
