Famed leaker NateTheHate has said that he fully expects the next big Sonic the Hedgehog game to be announced this year, though he says he is unsure about when it will actually be released. The last mainline Sonic game to be released was Sonic Frontiers which launched to mixed reviews in 2022. Of course, we saw the excellent Sonic x Shadow Generations released by SEGA in 2024 on multiple formats.
