Rumor: Bob-omb Blast might be added to Mario Kart World for MAR10 Day

In an official My Nintendo news post about the upcoming Mario Kart World Open Series being held from 5th March to 25th March, Nintendo might have accidentally spoiled a major content update that’s planned for this year’s MAR10 Day. Some of the screenshots in the post, meant to show off the unique rules for each week of the tournament, hides an explosive piece of evidence that eagle-eyed fans have spotted, hinting towards the return of the Bob-omb Blast battle mode from Double Dash and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. If you look closely at the menu icon for “Battle” in the screenshot (which still hasn’t been taken down at the time of writing), a Bob-omb can be seen alongside a balloon and a coin, which represent the other two modes in the game, Balloon Battle and Coin Rush. The Bob-omb isn’t present in the current version of the game, so either someone at Nintendo made a mistake, or this is an intentional, easy-to-miss tease for more exciting things to come in Mario Kart World.

    1. Funny that people seem to think everything should be there from the start when MKW was never about that kind of battle mode, well, from the start.

Modern gamers are really entitled people.

      1. Do people like you ever open Nintendo games that were made before 2010 and realize that they used to fill games with tons of content at launch or you just deny reality and think that people are just spoiled brats

    2. The replay value justifies the cost imo… I have played this game wayyy more than any other and its imporve on MK8 is incredible, making that game unplayable.

      1. I agree, Mario Kart 8 is so stiff and lifeless, and Mario Kart World makes every race feel different with all of the chaos that happens.

  1. I might give this game a retry eventually, but forcing the intermission roads on us really left a sour taste in my mouth, and the drones who were aggressive towards people who have a simple preference killed any remaining enjoyment out of the game. It’s never a good look when a company tries to police gameplay variety just because they’re not playing the way that they like. They should’ve made it as a separate option when they noticed people choosing random courses just to have the classic gameplay.

    1. I have to agree. I never really lied the update to begin with because it mess up the style of the game’s experience. Yes that separate option should be added as a future update.

      1. You get tired way fast playing knockout tour…with it’s limited options.

Tbh I hope they add outfits for characters that don’t have alot….looking at Pauline and do. Hopefully they add other battle maps and characters

  2. I bought Mario Kart World and Hate it. Have thousands of hours in every other Mario Kart Game. Also whenevever somebody has standards, mindless fanboys call it being entitle. People like ZX are why Pokemon Games are Overpriced Garbage.

  3. Everything Should be there from the start in an $80 game. These companies are scamming and abusing you so hard that it can be considered being @#$%ed. People defending bad practices and games that don’t deliver or are massive disappointments are in fact helping to ruin gaming as a whole. It’s not just Pokemon, its a lot of franchises, companies, and more getting worse because you all worship, praise, and defend them like they are the air you need to breath.

    1. Mario Kart World being 80$ was stupid, but most people got it for 50$. People complaining about it’s price point already got it for 50$, so why hate it for just the price point when most people got it cheaper. I am not defending the 80$ price, but when everyone complaining leaves out how most people got it for 50$ makes their argument so much weaker. There are flaws in Mario Kart World like the intermission, but every game has flaws, and they have been trying to fix these flaws by changing course layouts and adding new settings. Hating a game on just it’s price is literally judging a book by it’s cover, and of course there are flaws in Mario Kart World, but what I see is one of the best Mario Kart Games.

      1. A Real Nintendo Fan

Lmao, the price was Not my issue with the game. Mario Kart World is Heavily flawed. Just like others here, I haven hundreds, thousands of hours in each of the older Mario Kart titles. World I have less than twenty. I always see you and one other defending Nintendo always no matter what yere on this site.

        1. If you read my comment, I actually point out flaws. I just like defending Nintendo, it’s fun to argue with people. I’m not forcing anyone to like Nintendo, I am just pointing out some things that goes against anyone’s argument.

  4. Finished getting 394 P Switches last night. Now to get the Peach Coins. I got kids to play locally with but theyre still young enough we just set it on 50cc, auto accelerate, & smart steering. lol

  5. Hare the Forced In Between Tracks, the Pain Courses only having one lap, The Wall Run And Grind mechanics go against Mario’s kart’s antone can play philosophy and in my opinion suck. The CPU rubberbanding is worse than ever, mossing modes, tracks arent memorable. Just like Donkey Kong Bananza you can tell this game was meant for the original Switch, they did the bare minimum with the courses, the character selection is a mess along with the menu for it, poor character selection, purposely took out fan favorites, barely any memorable levels, missing modes, cant just do three lap races. So much more
