One of KiwiTalkz sources claims Grand Theft Auto 6 is Nintendo Switch 2 bound

Interviewer KiwiTalkz has said on X that one of his reputable sources has claimed Grand Theft Auto 6 is destined for the Nintendo Switch 2 and he’s doubled down on this. KiwiTalkz was naturally skeptical of these claims, but his source insists that the long-awaited game is coming day and date for the Nintendo Switch 2. So naturally KiwiTalkz has decided to place a bet with the unnamed insider and will collect if this information appears to be false. Here’s what he said on X:

“Flights to India are now booked for June!!! everything looks set for me to win my lavish dinner with my Rockstar source regarding GTA 6 for Switch 2. My source(who has gotten various things right) has been saying for months that GTA 6 will arrive day and date for Switch 2 which I thought was utter crap and called him out and he proceeded to double down so we now have this bet going. Rockstar has until early May to announce the Switch 2 version otherwise I win. I will be sure to post photos of the dinner lol.”

  1. Im beyond SHOCKED if this actually happens but it would be a very pleasant surprise. If it happens fingers crossed it’s a very stable port with some expected compromises, i genuinely thought it would be an impossible port but with the all frange generation thing going on these years who knows.

  2. Not a good idea, Cyberpunk has been called a “miracle port” and even that has some hitches, and when intense action happens it falls below 30FPS. Not ideal.. Playable? Somewhat, good performance? it’s kinda meh but I guess passable for some.

GTA 6 would run even worse, I’m not even expecting it to go beyond 30-40FPS on PS5 because of the dated CPU which wasn’t even the most powerful gaming chip at the time anyway.

If it comes to Switch 2 it’s going to be downgraded quite a lot, I guess it will look similar to Cyberpunk, have less traffic and things going on that tax the CPU etc.. If there’s any multiplayer it would probably be removed too I would imagine, or no cross platform play and a very limited amount of players.

It would be so watered down I am not sure there is a point other than to say it could be done. This ain’t a machine that’s in a similar realm of power like PS5 & Series X, it’s not like Dreamcast vs PS2, Switch 2 is maybe a little better than PS4.

    1. I don’t mean to defend nintendo this much, but look at the amazing ports outside of cyberpunk. Stars Wars Outlaws looks and runs great on switch 2 and that’s not even on the xbox one or ps4. All of capcom’s ports have been amazing, and indiana jones and the great circle looks like a true marvel on the switch 2. I will admit, the switch 2 is not the most powerful console, but with all of the port’s I have listed, I could see GTA 6 coming to the switch 2.

    2. Nonsense…the Switch 2 is more powerful than the PS4 and slightly superior to the Series S…not to mention its advantages like DLSS, so stop spreading misinformation and change your username!

    3. To be fair people predicted this would happen with the very demanding Star Wars Outlaws but it turned out to be one of the best games on Switch and was even more stable than it’s rival platforms.

I actually think because the game is newer and thus design for newer architectures like the Switch 2 will give it a major benefit.

  3. So, apparently, Switch 2 has 2 main shortcomings, one is the CPU ( much more close to PS4 than PS5) and Memory speed…. If they can come with a way of cutting as much as they can particle, debris, physics and stay out of raytraced lightning, i can see a 1080p 30fps taken out from a native 500-something Pixel resolution… it wont be the prettiest out there, but will be the best mobile version for sure.

    1. The Cortex A78 in the Switch 2 is far superior to the Jaguar in the PS4… A machine’s capabilities aren’t limited to the CPU… The Series S has less memory than the Switch 2 (10 vs. 12). Is it just me, or do many people not know what they’re talking about?
