Marvel Rivals is coming to Nintendo Switch 2

Popular online multiplayer game Marvel Rivals is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch 2. The news was revealed in an interview with IGN. The IGN interviewer double checked that it is indeed in development and Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo said “We will do it.” It’s not clear how far along development is on the project, but Koo said that when they have news they will be sure to share it.

“We’re working on it, but when we have news, we’ll announce that one.”

  1. First off: about time.

Second: it’s strange that we don’t have many MMOs, hero shooters. MOBAs and games like that on Nintendo consoles. The original Switch had some oddballs like Arena of Valor but it’s still not a huge presence.

It makes me wonder if Miyazaki saw that and brought the idea of The Duskbloods to Nintendo in order to secure a large piece of the pie. But it still has margin for growth. Marvel Rivals, especially if it runs well, is going to be a very solid addition (for one, mouse controls. For two, it’s Marvel).

  2. If it has cross-play I’ll actually be able to play with friends who have been hounding me to join them on the game- my PC isn’t strong enough to play the game and I don’t have anything else it’s on.
