Reliable video game leaker NateTheHate has said that Nintendo is preparing to release a remake of hit Nintendo 64 game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and also a new entry in the Star Fox franchise, both of which are scheduled to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 this year. However, Nate says that a new 3D Mario game is not expected to be released this year. Nintendo has yet to confirm any of this.

No they’ll keep it as is. Sony is super greedy I think people see it now watch PS6 be $1000-1200 and the pay pigs buy it with $100-200 games. It’s not tariffs that are 15% causing this globally it’s the companies. Ocarina of Time has been rumored to be getting remake for the past three years. This isn’t anything new. Plus it’s still just rumor as many of Nate’s “leaks” haven’t come to fruition lately. Yes he’s been right, but he keeps saying more and more things, and that adds more scrutiny to his claims. We’ll just have to wait and see if any of what he’s been claiming comes true

when a Remake is well done, preserving the spirit, and artistic intention, while at the same time updating, or polishing the gameplay, the Results are fantastic. Resident Evil 2 and 4 Remakes, Final Fantasy VII, Metroid Prime for switch, are good examples of this. IF Nintendo can pull the same with said games, it would be truly a historic moment to see the return of one of the best, if not the best game of all time.

No they are not good examples actually the worst examples. Best example is Demon Souls remake or N Sane Trilogy.
Demon Souls remake is also bad. They changed completely the style.
They also changed the walking speed, which makes close quarter combat much harder because DeS wasn’t designed around the constant rolling like later entries were. Personally, I wouldn’t call the remake bad, but it does change enough to make me prefer the original over it (and I played the remake before I played the original, so I’m not nostalgia blinded)

No 3D Mario is pretty tough. With that said, I would still take these with a grain of salt like he usually says in previous podcasts (I haven’t watched this one yet). An Ocarina of Time Remake has been talked about for years with claims it would be released soon. It’s a bit difficult to trust due to that, so that’s why I’m a little cautious.
No 3D Mario is kind of a given considering they said that the new movie will be the centerpiece of Mario’s anniversary.
As for OoT remake, there are some indicators that it is happening (the most damning being that the “3D audio” section of the Switch 2 Direct was a carbon copy of OoT, when Impa and Zelda are fleeing from Ganondorf on horseback). Plus, since we won’t have a 3D Mario and Pokémon Winds/Waves is bound for a 2027 release, Nintendo needs a big gun for this year’s holiday. A remake of Ocarina of Time fits such a description very well.
Yeah for 3D Mario, it’s a bit unknown if EPD would be tackling another 3D Mario game after Odyssey since they just got done with DK Bananza. There was some assumptions that another studio would be making the next one, which would make sense if they were too busy developing DK Bananza.
An Ocarina remake didn’t seem likely since they already had Link’s Awakening, Echo’s of Wisdom, and the Breath of the Wild series branching into other spin-offs which seemed to be the priority. Their stance on not remaking the N64 Zelda games also made it less likely to happen, maybe because it already existed on the 3DS. If the remake had been in development all this time, that would be a good surprise. I wonder if they would also release a remake for Majora’s Mask as well like in the 3DS days.
A new 3D Mainline Mario game hasn’t been fully announced yet including a new 3D mainline Sonic game as well honestly.

If they really are doing a full on remake of ocarina of time, I kind of want them to do it in the art style of breath of the wild.

I really want a remake or remaster of Link to the Past. Using sprites instead of the claymation style of Link’s Awakening. Maybe add some additional dungeons or areas. It might just be my opinion, but I think it would be awesome.

They could bundle it with Majora’s Mask. Will they? Not a Chance, Will this game be expensive to purchase? Definitely. I’d love for the next Star Fox would be a normal title that doesn’t depend on gimmicks and isn’t a retelling or remake of Starfox on the SNES again, I’d like them to include Krystal, and the characters from Star Fox 2 and continue the story and have a great story… but this is Nintendo…
But no Mario til next year. Yeah not too surprised but many expected this year. I mean glad this remake is happening. Hopefully others can happen Star Fox Adventures, Pokemon XD, Pokemon Colosseum, F-Zero GX, Donkey Kong 64, Eternal Darkness, 3D Mario, just to name a few. Also really want Pokemon Emerald remade old art style but cel shaded 3D style gameplay. Anime cutscenes would be nice too also Yellow too. Mario Power Tour Tennis too.

I’m ok with ports and remasters since they take less time, but remaking games is crazy time consuming that takes up an insane amount of time and resources that could be allocated to newer games.
