SEGA trademarks Sonic Forces in Japan and the United States

SEGA has registered the trademark for the ill-fated Sonic Forces in both the United States and Japan. X user Sonic Paradise points out that the Sonic Forces title had been abandoned since 2019. Whether SEGA is planning to do something with the Sonic Forces franchise remains to be seen or it could be related to the Sonic Forces: Speed Battle game on iOS and Android.

  1. This game is one of the greatest marketing scams ever perpetrated on the Sonic fanbase. Imagine creating a trailer that suggests we’re getting a Sonic Generations sequel with both classic and original levels featuring all the villains from the previous games teaming up… And then the level design sucks, the mechanics from Generations are bastardized, the game is 3 hours long and all said villains are just holograms with barely any screen time.

Oh, what could’ve been! Only thing this game got right was the character creator.

  2. Sonic Forces was so bad for me that I don’t even consider it a game, definitely not a complete game. The original promise has so much potential. For me, this is probably the worst gane of all time for me next to Sticker star

  3. Time to polish a turd? Desperate times at Sega. Just keep refusing to make a Sonic Mania sequel because “Sega isn’t a 2D retro game company”. Estúpida.
