eBay has rejected GameStop’s takeover bid and says offer not “credible”

Reuters is reporting that the huge online marketplace eBay has said its turned down GameStop’s takeover bid saying that it is ‘neither credible nor attractive.’ As I’m sure you aware, GameStop offered a $56 billion takeover bid for the online marketplace last week. eBay said “We have concluded that [GameStop’s] proposal is neither credible nor attractive.” eBay chairman Paul Pressler went on to say that “eBay’s Board is confident the company, under its current management team, is well-positioned to continue to drive sustainable growth.”

“Analysts ‌and investors have doubted whether the half-cash, half-stock bid from the $12 billion videogame retailer for a company nearly four times its market value would close.”

  1. eBay has been garbage lately, actually slowly for the past couple of years..

Certain items are hard to get views on let alone sell these days.

    1. (suggestion: be polite and considerate (one more suggestion: this Biblical verse: “Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” – Ephesians 4:29, New Living Translation version))

  2. I saw a clip where the Gamestop CEO couldn’t / wouldn’t account for the billions short they were in their offer. The hosts were adding up the assets and simply asking where is the rest is coming from and dude just pretended not to understand the basis of the question.
