Polygon has published a short interview with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie writer Matthew Fogel who revealed to the site that fan feedback led to the inclusion of the Fire Flower power-up. They heard the feedback from the dedicated fans loud and clear and made the Fire Flower the very first power-up that Mario and Luigi get in the latest movie. Hopefully we see a lot more in action in the next adventure.
“One thing we definitely heard from fans — and we felt as well — was that we never saw Mario and Luigi get the Fire [Flower] power-up,” says writer Matthew Fogel. “That’s why that’s the first power-up they get [in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie].”

We must hound Miyamoto until he adds Wario with Danny Devito voicing him in the third movie
Or Mark Hamill.
Ooohhh Mark Hamill would be fantastic
Why not in the first movie? Why was Mario not allowed to explore this by himself? This all is so beyond believe.
It is insane how dumbed down those two movies are, if you think about it for a moment. Honestly, the games
have better stories than those two movies combined.
The fire power was in the first movie.
