Nintendo discovers Yoshi and the Mysterious Book game-breaking bug with a fix on way

Nintendo’s customer support account has revealed that a game breaking bug has been discovered in the charming Yoshi and the Mysterious Book which came to its attention thanks to user reports. The company outlined the issue below and said that it is preparing an update to fix the issue and asks for patience while they continue to work on a solution. Nintendo has apologised to owners for the issue.

We have received multiple reports that players are becoming unable to progress while playing ‘Yoshi and Fukashigi’s Encyclopedia.’ We are currently investigating the issue and have confirmed that it occurs under the following conditions: • Before hearing Fukashigi’s explanation of the ‘Index,’ start the Bird of Paradise investigation and finish it without making any major discoveries. • Afterward, if you listen to the explanation of the Index, you become unable to exit the Index page. *The explanation of the Index occurs after clearing a total of four chapters. We are currently preparing an update to fix this issue and will provide further information as soon as the update is ready. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and trouble this has caused, and we ask for your patience while we work on a solution.

    1. I was taking it slow and I started to dislike it (I’m a completionist gamer). If that happens to you, I recommend just doing each creature as they come and not trying to 100% each one immediately. It’s kind of helped

      1. Same here, I felt like I was in each level for hours. It’s fun to revisit some creatures and fully complete them.

      2. I’m doing a mix of both. I don’t try to 100% each creature as I find them, but if their gimmick intrigues me enough I can find myself in their level for a very long time off the initial visit alone. I plan to catalogue every creature and then go back to their levels later to discover more journal entries. This game is surprisingly content packed, at first I was under the impression that it was only a few chapters, but the post game doubles the content and some!

        1. Yeah, I guess that’s more accurate to my experience. I say get your fill on the initial visit but don’t feel like you have to keep going back to the same entry until it’s finished.

And it was just a suggestion. You should do what you want. I just wanted to share my experience.

      3. You are totally right, I am not trying to complete everything the first time inside a page. Then I would get bored. So I take et slow but still move one when I feel like I am “done for now” in this page. And then come back later on.

  1. NGL Im staring to think companies should have 2 versions of before sell play testers
    1. Their paid staff who do it for all their games
    2. Paid and or early access volunteers from the gaming community.
The reason being is that gamers seem to catch a lot bugs and that way you don’t need Day 1 patches
