Pokemon GO developer Niantic has new name and new logo

Niantic, the masterminds behind the hit Pokemon GO mobile game, have had a name change since it was acquired by Savvy Games Group subsidiary, Scopely. The company will be named Scopely Explore and will continue on as normal ahead of the 10th anniversary celebrations for Pokemon GO. You can check out their fresh new logo down below with the name and logo being updated across existing games over these next few weeks.

  1. That’s supposed to help an “X”? Logo isn’t terrible, just boring. It’s a videogame company, it’s ok to have some fun with the logo.

  2. Don’t wanna be too negative, but man is this a boring logo compared to the original. The Niantic logo gave the impression of adventure with a bit of mystique; this new logo looks like something you’d draw on your middle school homework because you’re bored during class.
