Level-5 talks Professor Layton and the New World of Steam

Akihiro Hino, the president of gaming company Level-5, has talked about the long-awaited new entry in the Professor Layton series, Professor Layton and the New World of Steam. Hino said that those who play the game should find the ending satisfying as it will “make people think a little” given “our current age of AI”. Hino also talked about the game’s all-important puzzles, saying that Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will feature the “most puzzles ever in the series.” Here’s what he said:

“The story this time is about humanity advancing civilization, to then over-indulge in those new technologies and face severe comeuppance. I think in our current age of AI, the ending will make people think a little -overall I think we made a really good story.

Until now, Layton games were always fairly compact, and I think people like the good feeling you get once you finish them. This game preserves that feeling, but adds a little more content. Please pay attention not just to the puzzles, but to the story as well.”
