Square Enix has held a PAX West panel called From Reunion to Resolve and revealed that their main ambition with the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy is to “expand FF7’s future” and “move beyond being a classic of the past and shape it into an IP with an ever-evolving future.” From the sounds of it the company hopes to capitalise on the success of the PlayStation original for a long time to come. We have had a number of spin-off games from VII and it sounds like more are likely to come.

FF7 was never even that great in the first place, genuinely one of the most overrated games of all time. Not even in the top 5 FF games.

At least now the Final Fantasy franchise will improve its fanbase and quality for its audiences. I don’t know what will they do next after they finish the remakes for the series. Maybe a new game or something different behind the scenes.
FF7 sucked originally and it still sucks. It is one of the least remarkable entries. SE’s obsession with it is exhausting.
