Nintendo has announced the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in the 40th Anniversary Zelda Direct. The beautiful looking remake will launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on 5th November 2026. The game includes a lot of new features not in the original N64 version, including a “Threads of Time” menu that shows your story progress and next objective, fully voiced cutscenes, an unlocked free-moving camera, a jump button, a roll/dash ability, and more. You can even play the Ocarina in-game by whistling in real life or using a physical Ocarina (coming soon to the Nintendo Store), utilizing the Nintendo Switch 2 microphone. An in-depth 15 minute gameplay demonstration and the official trailer can be found below.

no I just pointing that before gta 6 which coming on November 19th
In what world are sales of a remake impacted by GTA VI? Bozo
It looks incredible! Day one! I’d kill for Majora’s Mask in this engine too!
Is this heaven?
I dig it. Excited to play a “traditional” 3D Zelda with modern visuals. Hopefully MM gets this same treatment. (Would really really really love TP to get this treatment one day, but I won’t hold my breath.)
Aside from the Zelda Notes features which don’t interest me, I was pleasantly surprised… on the other hand, humming the tune and Link playing it, I really hope the microphone doesn’t hear everyone in the house because my husband has the annoying habit of humming the tunes from all the Zelda games!
Looks really stunning. Its like were in more than just heaven.
Many thanks to Nintendo for the release date on this game. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years holiday weekends will be fun this year being able to play this game through and take my time with it and enjoy all it has to offer. Add some Splatoon Raiders, Star Fox and Mario Kart World in there for family fun together. What a great time it will be during the holidays this year.
I noticed there are mechanics from BotW and TotK and Link moves like he did in those games, so apparently Nintendo is using the same engine from the newer games and I think that’s amazing. It can reduce development time and they can reuse what works and is good, no need to reinvent the wheel. On a side note, I wonder if you have the freedom to go wherever you want, like in the newer games.
The game looks gorgeous and absolutely marvelous, I’m looking forward to play it.
I think it looks amazing. After playing Star Fox, there is one downside for me personally, but everyone can have their own opinion. I was really excited for Star Fox and thought it looked amazing, but after playing it, the level design and some of the gameplay, like the battle against Wolf where you can fly around in a sandbox but there isn’t much going on, felt dated.
Because of this, I was hoping this would have the same story and locations but be more of a reimagining, meaning Hyrule Field would be way bigger, for example, and villages and Hyrule Town + other areas in general would be made bigger , more building larger city’s , larger field + other area’s ect. While it seems this isn’t 1-on-1 with better graphics like Star Fox, it will be a smaller game, still 30–36 hours instead of 100+ hours what we are used to today, and you might get the same feeling of parts being dated. But I’m not sure about this yet; we’ll have to see.
Again, it looks amazing. I think Zelda games should always have top-notch graphics. Lord of the Rings is an amazing movie because they made everything real, and it looked 10/10 at the time. If they did everything CGI, it wouldn’t be on the same level, and I have the same argument for Zelda games. They deserve the best they can be, and this looks great instead of the GameCube graphics we got in past iterations.
I know people are really defensive when it comes to Nintendo (I own every console they ever released, with 40+ games on each of them), but as I said at the start, this is just my personal view and the level/bar I expect and what I personally look for.
Other than that can’t wait to start playing only 2 months and since its a smaller game enough time to get into GTA 6 witouth having to rush eather of them wich is great :)
I was really hoping for a little more than a 1:1 recreation, but still looks great.
Same here Michael as mentiont before. Eather way its good that the game is now playable again as in modernized. N64 games aged really bad.
