A free update for Star Fox on Nintendo Switch 2 has been announced for 29th September 2026, adding three new stages to Battle Mode, as well as local split-screen multiplayer for up to 4 players. Additionally, Star Fox Adventures (2002) launches later today on GameCube – Nintendo Classics for those with a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription.

More battle mode stages was the biggest thing I wanted added to Star Fox, so I’m satisfied.
I wonder if we might see even more added later, if they’re trying to add stages based on every location in the game.
I was hoping for them to add three more stages in online mode and I had a dream about it once. It would have been nice if they let us vote on the stages we want to picked out in online as a free update so each players gets a vote so we wouldn’t worry on getting stages picked randomly.
