Zelda: Ocarina of Time gets ESRB Rating page with new details

The Entertainment Software Rating Board have revealed a few new details related to combat and game mechanics in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. The new listing from the ESRB gives the game a E for Everyone 10+ rating ahead of release. Read on for the full details:

“The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB with Animated Blood and Fantasy Violence. This is an adventure game in which players assume the role of a hero on a quest to defeat evil and save a fantasy realm called Hyrule. From a third-person perspective, players explore Hyrule, interact with characters, solve puzzles, and battle fantastical enemies (e.g., bat-like, spider-like, chicken-like enemies; guards) Players use swords, shields, arrows, and magic spells to attack enemies. Battles are accompanied by impact sounds, colorful light effects, and cries of pain. Certain enemies may emit a green or purple blood effect when defeated. Some areas contain larger boss enemies that require more protracted combat to defeat.”

  1. I feel like something like Dead Hand couldn’t be done today with the red blood, it would have bumped this to at least a teen rating.

  2. well that doesn’t bode well for the darker areas in the game :<< man between some of the female characters’ redesigns (namely the Great Fairy, but I suspect Princess Ruto and Nabooru will follow) and this, I wish Nintendo would’ve just approached this with a T-Rating mindset so we could get those things. I mean, we’ll have to wait and see, but I strongly dislike and oppose censorship.
