Could this be the glorious official box-art image for the sublime looking Super Mario Galaxy 2 which is due for release in May? It certainly looks like it. Expect official confirmation from Nintendo reasonably soon.

At first I wanted to think “duh, of course it’s fake!” because I forgot how incredibly soon the game is coming out.

no, bottom right. the mario planet is brand new, and was introduced at GDC a few days ago. The planet at the bottom right looks like it’s from the first game. Probably in the first world.
I know the exact planet you’re talking about. but I think the bottom portion of this one is a little different. But they said that they were making all new planets and things so that its not like the first one, after all no one wants to play the same game twice.
I like the tiny blue planet in the center at the bottom. It looks pretty interesting. And I love the Mario Planet of course

@ PenguinMario – yeah, The one I’m talking about looks like it’s from Good Egg Galaxy (on the path for the first star), and the planet you’re talking about looks like the circular planet with a layer of glass on top (The one where you needed to navigate to the star launcher, and blast out of the glass).
@ boxart in general – The box art gives off a tone of Galaxy mixed with previous iterations. The galaxy feel on the bottom right-hand corner shows how Mario moves through space, however, the top area of the box features that signature blue sky with clouds, which hints that we may see more atmosphere and possibly, my guestimation, more tropical areas too.

Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Kart Wii are my 2 fave games (I beat them both). I love how Mario is riding Yoshi. I love the blue Yoshi because I love sky/light blue. Princess Rosalina is my FAVE Nitendo character! I love the Luigi shaped head planet. I <3 Mario Series and Zelda Series!
