Nintendo 3DS: Nintendo 3DS To Launch October 2010?

Numerous British games industry sources have stated that Nintendo are looking to launch their next generation handheld in October alongside Microsoft’s Project Natal and Sony’s PlayStation Move.

“It’s a surprise – we were expecting it much closer to Christmas. But I suppose it gives Nintendo the opportunity to get it front and centre in people’s minds nice and early.

“In my experience, you don’t launch a product that early to Christmas unless you’re confident in it – and going to spend a lot of money on it. We’re reassured that Nintendo is going to give it some decent backing in Q4.”

Nintendo Wii: Okami Director Wants To Develop Star Fox For Nintendo Wii

The acclaimed director behind the classic Wii and PlayStation 2 adventure Okami has expressed his personal interest in developing a new Star Fox game for the Nintendo Wii.

Hideki Kayima expressed his interest in a new Star Fox game on Twitter where he stated that it should be the original Star Fox 64 team developing it, he then changed his mind and said that he would personally like his own team to oversee and actually develop the project.

Nintendo Wii: Modern Warfare 2 Finally On Its Way To Nintendo Wii?

A newsletter sent out by popular US gaming retailer GameStop clearly shows an image of the supposed Modern Warfare 2 box art for the Nintendo Wii

Whilst of course this is no means official confirmation, it’s strange that such a well known video gaming retailer such as GameStop would put out this image in a mass email to its customers.

Nintendo Wii: Super Mario Galaxy 2 Storyline Finally Revealed…

Japanese gaming bible Famitsu have revealed a snippet of the mysterious storyline for Nintendo’s forthcoming Wii blockbuster, Super Mario Galaxy 2.

‘This is one more stardust fairytale. Only once in a hundred years does stardust fall on the Mushroom Kingdom. As such, Peach invites Mario to the castle to watch. On his way over, Mario spots a mysterious light. He cautiously approaches it, and finds… a small, lost baby star. The star – ‘Baby Chico’ – follows Mario to the castle, but what is waiting for them there is…’

Nintendo 3DS: Critically Acclaimed Dev Level 5 Working On New 3DS Title?

The developer behind the critically acclaimed Dragon Quest and the Professor Layton series has announced it has a brand new title in the works.

Although the company’s next game is currently tightly under wraps, Level 5 CEO Akihiro Hino has stated that the new title will be “centered on a system that’s not yet in this world.”

Nintendo 3DS: 3DS The Biggest Nintendo Handheld Product Since 2004

Nintendo have stated that their forthcoming 3DS gaming console will be the company’s biggest handheld product since it launched the original Nintendo DS in 2004.

“We have ideas of what we want to bring to the consumer that we can’t do with the current DS model”, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said in an interview yesterday. “The Nintendo 3DS for us is our next handheld platform.”

Nintendo: Miyamoto Says His ‘Best Work Is Yet To Come’

Legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto has told gaming publication GamesTM that he personally believes his best work is still yet to come.

“Ten years ago I could never have been able to imagine that I would be making games like that. That’s why I can say that the best is yet to come to me.”

GamesTM also quizzed the Nintendo legend on a HD Wii console.

“Technology is always evolving and Nintendo, just like other companies, is going to integrate those technologies into our new products as they develop.”

“Whether that be a Wii HD, Wii 2 or an entirely new console, I am not in a position to say at the moment.

“I think that in the next generation of hardware, the challenge is how unique and different a product Nintendo is able to make.”

When GamesTM told Miyamoto that they’d love to see a new Starfox game for Wii, he replied: “Me too.”
