Earlier this week I posted a screenshot of a pre-order box for Donkey Kong 3D, which was taken in an EB store by a member of DKVine. US games store GameStop, who owns EB Games in Australia, has stated that the display cases for Donkey Kong 3D were not official, and that the game isn’t on the stores computers. Nintendo has refused to confirm or deny the existence of Donkey Kong 3D.
“The displays were not supplied by Nintendo and have been taken down. It’s definitely not in the system in the U.S. I’m sure it’s not elsewhere, either, but I can’t confirm that.”

I guessed as much, but I thought a little optimism wouldn’t hurt. Alas, reality is much harsher.
I’m hoping we’ll see it eventually, seeing how I enjoy DK side scrollers even more than Mario ones.
Well obviously the game isnt out yet so the covers are just like place holders, but its pretty much giving away the fact that the game’s coming eventually

GameStop/EB did it themselves. It isn’t hard to print a picture off and slap it on a cover. After all Capcom did for Okami.

Game was just a shame… they cancelled mass effect 3 preorders a day before it released and told the preorderers to go to amazon or some other place.
Back to subject! Nintendo refused to say wether it’s real or not… this makes the chances of the game coming to 72% already.
A game retailer started taking in preorders… this improves the chances to 85%
Donkey Kong has been on N64, Gamecube, DS, and Wii Just say most of the Nintendo consoles :) … we are due a Donkey Kong game on 3DS right now… this makes the chances of it coming up to 98%.
There is a 98% chance there will be a Donkey Kong game on 3DS with in the next few years.

If the games is not on their systems, why the hell do they have a display for it?
Sometimes I believe they do this on purpose as some kind of market research to see if a game generates reactions in the fans.

A little disappointed but then again DKCR still has enough life in it for me to hold out on another adventure. And like everyone has been saying a DK game is coming to the 3DS at some point in it life, especially since the 3DS is still young.
I still wouldn’t be surprised if a Donkey Kong 3DS game does happen. It does seem a bit odd that Nintendo are refusing to confirm or deny it.
Nintendo’s stance on anything they have not announced is that they don’t comment on rumors.

Meh, part of me suspects this is them covering their back in case Nintendo is annoyed the game was leaked prior to E3, but still, I guess the rumour was too good to be true.
