Retro’s Star Fox + Metroid Collaboration Isn’t Happening

The Paul Gale Network which previously stated that Retro Studio’s were busy preparing a Metroid and Star Fox collaboration are now saying that there’s no truth to the rumour. The site has been right on a few occasions but it’s also been terribly wrong on other occasions. So for those that were dreading the collaboration you can now breathe a sigh of relief as it’s clearly not happening.

    1. I don’t have a penis, since I am a girl or am I??, but here’s a dildo.

It’s green so it should bring good luck.

        1. Your comment is automatically bullshit.

There’s many females on the internet, I’m one of them.

    1. Indeed, thank god and the developers of Nintendo! I just can’t see well a mix up idea of Star Fox and Metroid bid together… It sends a shiver to my spine!

as much as the purist bitched, moaned, and complained, this could have been good for both series. Neither series has ever been a best seller and Starfox is doomed. O well tho…

    1. You are wrong on so many level.

Metroid sold well as did Star Fox, also neither series would have worked well with each other as they are very different games in term of game play, story and setting.

The game would have been horrible and I would have to blow up a bridge again just to prove my point.

      1. I kindly and respectfully disagree with you. How do you know if this game would have been horrible? Do you have a crystal ball?plus, I disagree with the notion that both games have completely different stories and settings. Its an interesting idea and if done right, it would have boosted both franchises.

        1. Pit: You know, Komaytos look an awful lot like little Metroids.
Viridi: No! Shhh! Stop right there!
Pit: What’s the matter? All I said was that Komaytos look like little Metr-
Viridi: Hmm hmm HMMMM hmm! I can’t HEAR you!
          Pit: Hey, what’s your problem?
Viridi: This game universe and that game universe have NOTHING to do
with each other! So don’t go around spreading rumors!

          xD

    2. Metroid has always been a best seller, wtf are you talking about? the only game in the series to ever NOT be, is OtherM. As far as Starfox, yeah only 1 has been best seller, all the others sucked. But these two franchises should never cross over outside of Smash Bros. it would hurt them both terribly.

        1. well, i was only talking from a “best seller” perspective, they sold poorly but from a gamers perspective i can agree on Starfox Assault, dont know if i’d say “best ever” but Assault really was good, i’ll admit. it was almost as good as Starfox64. but Adventure really did suck in terms of fun and replay value.

    1. thats the main thing.i just want to see fox on full HD.i dont care if its a starfox&metroid.i just want to see him on a brand new console

    1. hmm why? nintendo makes better zelda than retro.or am i wrong? because i dont know mutch things about retro studios

  2. I’m so happy to hear this. A Nintendo crossover is not a bad idea but starfox and metroid would not fit together at all.

    1. The way I see it, the characters wouldn’t act very well together, it would seem awkward unless you hired the best writer ever.

  3. A pure Starfox game is enough. The Starfox universe is a lot more abstract than the Metroid universe. Also, a collaboration would involve two aspects of gameplay, which sacrifices time put into one for the other. The Wii U’s online could be fantastic for a Starfiox game, and I’m hoping we finally get the Starfox 64 style game we’ve been hoping for for a long time.

  5. Might’ve been interesting, but I’d also much prefer the two staying seperate outside of Nintendo-wide crossover games like Smash.

Now get to work on a 2D Metroidvania-style Metroid game, Nintendo! On a console, preferably.

  6. DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A TERRIBLE IDEA

  7. Now, just give us a nice new Zelda like the one on the HD tech demo and I’ll be throwing all my money in your direction, Nintendo.

  8. More than Fusion Saga not being a game in production, I think the biggest news here is that Nintendo is considering crossovers outside of Smash Bros. period. Though this one didn’t happen, we now know the idea is in line with their thinking going forward.

  9. I’m glad its not happening =) I hope that the game they are making though turns out to be awesome.

  10. It was very obvious this was never going to happen. It would be too much to handle. There’s no way they can make a game like that right now and still do justice to the 2 franchises. I want a stand alone Star Fox game for the Wii U. Leave luck to heaven.

  11. Star Fox / Metroid crossover was a fucking stupid idea to begin with, and whoever thought-up that lame idea should be shot.

I bet Nintendo pissed themselves laughing when they read that load of steaming horse crap! XD

So what rubbish will people make up next?

Hey, check this out! … The Playstation 4 will use the same CPU as a Nintendo 64 and make toast every time you save a game!!!

  12. zant's faithful servant

I think that could’ve been a neat game if handled correctly… I just don’t see why everyone seems to think it’s so idiotic.
