According to the sandbox-style, action-adventure video game’s executive producer, Loz Doyle, the city in Wii U-exclusive LEGO City Undercover is so big that it would take players 10 minutes just to drive around the edge of it. If players want to explore all the side roads and regions in the forthcoming game’s huge city, the drive will be even longer. LEGO City Undercover launches March 18th in North America.
“It would take 10 minutes just to drive a loop of the city. That doesn’t even include exploring all the side roads and other regions. Not only is there the ground level city to explore but you can also get up on the rooftops where there is a whole load of additional gameplay.”
-LEGO City Undercover Executive Producer Loz Doyle
Sounds pretty big.
I am really looking forward to this.
Do we have a release date yet? Or is still just Q1?
Sorry, i meant to say European release date.
Hopefully close to the North American date.

Ten minutes is short as f*ck or is it just me??
It’s just you. Or you’ve only ever played Just Cause 2.
Just Cause 2 was just stupid big. Although in that game, is way mostly barren mountains.
This game is more packed with stuff.
Didn’t like the hugely repetitive villages in the mountains, although the mountains were actually pretty okay. You can have the most fun there.
“Hostile in de area, calling reinforcements”
The only thing the enemies say.
Then they get lost and never see you again. The AIs aren’t the most intelligent, are they?
Not like it matters, just use infinite parachutes and scale vertical walls.
Nice to see intelligent conversation happening in the comments section around here today!
Grand Theft Auto IV is around six minutes without search or side-missions.
And you have to stop cause of the traffic and toll bridges.
It’s just you. I think you might of missunderstood.
To drove around the perimeter of the city full speed in a car will take 10 Minutes. That doesn’t include the 98% .
Think about how far you can get on GTA by driving for 1 minute. ….
I guess you are right, ten minutes are pretty long now I think of it
10 minutes that’s just about as long as it took to take a tour of liberty city in gta 4 in a reasonably fast car.. and liberty city didn’t have an extensive rural area.. this game does
not in a video game its not in fact i coukd do the outer ring road of my city LEICESTER in about 15 mins at night clear roads THATS HUGE
depth of field in this game impresses
hmm not exactly…
GTA SA took me 15 minutes to drive a loop with a car…..
I’m actually looking forward to this, even though I haven’t played with Legos for nearly 10 years! Haha!
I loved my first lego game but when I played the others I realised it was exactly the same thing all over again. I’m not sure what to think about this one … I will wait for the demo.
This game reminds me San Andreas.
Day 1 because of it.
actually quite excited for this one..
An amazing game. One I shall buy even without studying the game play mechanics. The Wii U has already started to drain our pockets. Save and trade, with games that’s the only way to go. Also pre-order and pay piecewise.
The Wii U seriously drained my Wii U’s storage capacity, along with all the eshop games. I used at least half my deluxe Wii U’s storage, and need to get a Hard Drive for the Wii U really quick. I think i spent over $80 just on eshop games/ downloadable Wii U games. I still have a ton of games to still get. Lets see if the upcoming nintendo direct empties our pockets even more.
I think it’s safe to say the upcoming Nintendo Direct will empty my testicles too.
Lol wut
LOL!
LMFAO
The Internet
The baby
Adam!
Mokkori :p
LMAO^^^^^
The more I hear about this game, the more I want it.
Ditto.
Looks like a great game. Did they say how big the game is? Like how much storage it will take on the eshop, or if it is even available on the eshop?
Considering from what we’ve seen with places being more than decorated rectangles, and having interactivity with outside areas, house, junkyards, buildings ect basically like LEGO based levels all taped together, and inside areas too, thats pretty damn impressive.
I think i’ll have to pick this game up xD
Really, really exciting! Sounds that we are going to have a bunch of masterpieces until the end of 2013.
I wonder what Holiday surprises Nintendo has for us. Hoping for a mario kart. :)
I think Mario Kart is coming. It usually makes an appearance on a new Nintendo console sooner rather than later. Who knows, maybe we’ll hear about it in the Nintendo Direct tomorrow…
Mario Kart would be the best move from Nintendo. Just see how Mario Kart Wii sold worldwide. But I am looking forward for any news on Star Fox and the top-secret Retro Studios project. Fingers crossed for an excellent Wii U year.
I am really looking forward to this, but after playing other Lego Games (mostly Lego Batman 2) I’m a little worry about this game be as buggy as the other ones.
Well you can always wait for reviews, then choose if you’d still want the game.
I’m going to buy this game sooner or later, but it’s at a low priority for me.
from most wanted to least wanted
Wii U:
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Pikmin 3
Rayman Legends
3DS:
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Pokémon X Y
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon
And I’ll get Lego City: Undercover, Wonderful 101, New Super Mario Bros U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, and Castlevania 3DS eventually, but as of right now they are at low priority.
By the time I buy all of those games, it will be e3 and then my wallet will hate me. :(
You still have not gotten new super mario bros u!? O_O Highly recommended game, its amazing.
I will eventually, but I just bought New Super Mario Bros 2 a month ago and then found out about NSMBU. :( So after playing NSMB2, I’m not ready to start another 2d mario again just yet, but I will eventually.
I think the ‘U’ version is by far, superior than the ‘2’ version.
Agreed. But it somehow shows how Nintendo overloaded us with face-lifted 2D Mario games recently.
I hope they port Super Mario World to 3DS as soon as possible. It would be amazing to feel the music, enjoy the landscapes and explore the vast map of SMW again in 3D.
Have you played the Fire Emblem: Awakening demo? I enjoyed it :)
I did too! :D It really sold me on the game since Shadow Dragon kida made me sad with all the insignificant characters and having to kill off so many for the bous stages -_- what can I say, I get too attached lol :P
Yes, it was fun. This is my first time playing Fire Emblem. I’ll probably play casual mode to get used to things then play traditionally.
My list is the same as yours except Pokemon X and Animal Crossing are switched :p I don’t have a Wii U yet, but those 3 games are my top three when I get one :P
Ahh! I forgot to submit my email with the first 2 comments! T_T I was wondering why my icon wasn’t pink lol
Great minds think alike :P
Holy shit dat big.
In what universe do you think making posts under that name is acceptable? Shame on you.
This universe. It’s not actually that bad compared to other stuff that gets posted here.
Honestly, the names people have when they just write casual comments always throws me off and make me laugh.
thats what she said ;)
I bet most people think it is big (the city)… But I bet the cars in the game just go 10mph
I am just joking… But seriously… You have to know how fast the car goes.
I think it’s strange that we know as much as we do about this game, and next to nothing about the prequel that is coming to the 3DS soon afterwards.
The real question isn’t how big the city is. But how fast is the transportation? Ten minutes is a long time but wt if it’s because the cars move slow as hell lol =p
If you download the demo, you’ll find out the answer firsthand.
Is there a demo out for this game!!!!!???
Thats a good point.

I want this game now! Ahora!
This sounds really cool! I love open-world games! XD
Sweet, this comes out around the time I’ll get my Wii U, looks like this will be my first buy! :D
Yup. This will be one of the first games I will get on Wii U.
for a lego game it seems cool
Hm, pretty big already. . . i wonder if they came up with this result using the fastest car?
