Capcom’s sparking controversy again and this time it’s to do with the Japanese version of Ace Attorney 5 – known as Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies in the West. According to the NeoGAF user GSR, the demo for Ace Attorney 5 has been launched in the Japanese Nintendo eShop, but comes with a notice to say that the full version will only be available as a physical retail version.
Only yesterday we reported that Capcom’s USA senior vice president Christian Svensson had been vying for support to bring a physical edition to the West, as countless fans of the series had been disappointed that it would be a digital-only download. But now we’re looking at opposite ends of the scale: Japan with a potential option for a physical edition only, and the West with, again, a potential option for a digital version only. So far, there has been no official confirmation from Capcom that this will be the case for Japan, but it begs the question of whether Japanese 3DS users will, in time, lobby for the digital version? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Who gives a shit about this shit bring some good sega games over and im excited, man i miss SEGAs superior consoles.
If Sega was so superior it would’int of have flopped,
In the console and software market.
Sega is just a hollow name now. :)
Dreamcast was too much ahead of its time and not behind the times like wii. Thats why they flopped because sheeps wanted to watch movies instead of Dreamconsole. And SEGA isnt hollow name they still make good titles pso2,sonic lost world, yakuza etc. Nintendo doesnt have balls thats all!
It is sad, but Segas console days are better left behind them…
They are far more profitable now as a software dev only, and it works.
IDC, just give me a damn release date for the game already.
wow I’ve never heard of something like this happening!
The irony is strong in this one!

I hope Capcom explains why this is, if it is true. So that we can compare the reasons between the two desicions.
I’m from the US and I want a retail version.
